The Fishman Cometh

I am having such a great time in Antigua because of things like this. Paul stopped by this morning to ask if I would like some fish. I said yes, of course, because if I have to eat chicken for a month I think I will loose my mind. He said the fish man would be stopping by this morning and they'd call when he got there. We did all our morning things, like make the beds (Carole, you would be so proud of how we take care keeping up our little home) and brush teeth. Daisy, Ruth's housekeeper came to the door to tell us he was here.

And sure enough, there was this man, with his scales and weights, squating on the front lawn. I bought 2 pounds of what looks like a red snapper type fish but can't tell you what it really is because I forgot. I'm going to saute it tonight in some butter and steam the artichokes I bought yesterday at the mercado. Here's the other thing I've learned in my 5 short days here. You gotta let go a lot of your fears about germs and cleanliness. If you don't, I think you'd starve. I figure a good rinse with pure water and long marinade with lime juice will keep us healthy!
